Tuesdays with the Conductor
Moving Day!
A very warm welcome to the 11th edition of the Tuesdays with the Conductor newsletter.
It was another very profitable betting weekend on the rugby as our 5 Unit play on the Bulls overs points and total overs points at Loftus hit with ease. There is nothing better than watching a big bet run and having almost no stress throughout the 80 mins.
On our other bets, we had early strikes on Cardiff plus, Western Force plus, and Fijian Drua plus. All teams won their games comfortably and in hindsight, I should have really had a strike on the money line for those games as well. Waking up at 4am for the Fijian Drua games however might have to be a thing of the past, as climbing out of a warm bed as we head into the South African winter is getting tougher and tougher. It also means any betting past 10pm on Saturday night becomes an act of sheer determination and will. I just couldn’t make it to the Fury v Usyk fight.
When the alarm reads 4am…
The weekend results and some lovely profits!
On to this coming weekend, and there isn’t as much rugby to look forward to but still some absolute cracking games, with the Challenge Cup final on Friday night and the Champions Cup final on Saturday afternoon. There is also the final of the Japan Rugby League One between Wild Knights vs. Toshiba Brave Lupus and the SA Cup final. Check out Marika Koroibete going full Jonah Lomu in the semi-final for the Wild Knights - https://x.com/PlanetRugby/status/1791809086213804468.
The final of the SA Cup between the Griquas and Pumas will kick off at 12:30 in Kimberley on Saturday, and it’s hard not to fancy the Kwasse on the minus 2.5 handicap. The Griquas have been perfect so far this tournament, winning 9/9, and look hungry and well-coached. The diamonds may be gone but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still gold to be found in the capital of the Northern Cape.
On to Super Rugby, and my eye is immediately cast to the Chiefs vs. the Hurricanes on Friday morning (SA time). Sitting in 4th position and with some ground to make up on the Canes with only 2 rounds left, I really like the Chiefs' money line of 1.80 available at World Sports Betting. The other bet that will see my attention is the unders. I have seen some 56.5 around, and although NZ derbies can be high-scoring, I rate both of these teams' defenses, and all we need is Paul Williams on the whistle to make this bet a cracker.
On Friday night, it’s Challenge Cup and, at this stage (sober), I won’t be having a bet on this game. The Sharks will definitely be bolstered by the return of Eben Etzebeth and Vincent Koch, but they’re too erratic to back in such a big game, especially on a -3.5 handicap. Although the game is in London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, I expect some very vocal support for Gloucester, whose fans I’m sure will make the 2-hour train journey to London to watch their team.

I am hoping that by Saturday afternoon we’ve made our necessary profits for the weekend so that we can sit back and enjoy what should be a cracker between Leinster and Toulouse.
In other very exciting news, I am currently beta testing a new platform for Conductor Bets as we look to grow into other markets and expand our rugby community. Stay tuned for more news on this!
